TLDR: Daggers aren't necessarily worth it but for a Rogue, rapiers aren't worth that much more after level 5 in my opinion. 4x with action surge for easy 100+, which can be split among many targets. So we've started an honor mode run as a group of three. I think thief is self-explanatory so i wont focus so much there. With 2 attacks being unarmed, and 3 flurry of blows(x2 hits) that's 8 instances of 21-40 DMG giving you a wopping 168-320 DMG per turn. 399952 DPR on average because it's all piercing damage. Or down 3 enemies before anyone else even had their turn Rogue/Gloomstalker early game due to how beneficial it is to surprise your enemies and take out 2–3 of them before anyone moves. Weakness of BG3 (at least with the level 12 cap) is that not enough classes get much in that 7-9 range, making it a Ranger is very frontloaded while fighter has something good at basically every level. A community all about Baldur's Gate III, the role-playing video game by Larian Studios. The charisma you get from the bard and the class itself open you a lot of dialogue options. Key items are diadem of arcane synergy, battlemage gloves, titanstring bow TrueComplaint8847. Rogue/Fighter is a decent compromise and arguably a straight upgrade to pure Rogue in combat. Gloomstalker 5 gives access to misty step and Umbral shroud both of which feel very vampire like. As a Rogue, Astarion's main Ability Berserker great weapon puts out stupid damage, can do over 50 a swing late game with right buffs and still decently tank. These classes live and die by their spells. I started off with a level of rogue Astarion should just be an Arcane Trickster, but pure Rogue of any kind just isn't very good. If you're an assassin you can make your first hit a critical. Add 1 or 2 Fighter levels for more damage. I mean a bard multi class is a pretty awesome MC: I'm doing Astarion's origin now with 6 swords bard, 4 assassin rogue and 2 fighter and that ranged damage and epic persuasion are pretty bad ass. I've read that assassin should specifically be used with BOTH Ranger and Fighter because there's a ranger subclass that gives an extra attack with +1d8 on the first turn of combat, and you get to use this a second time when you action surge, so you can effectively get 6 attacks with +2d8 total damage and advantage on everything on the first turn of combat, and 5 of the attacks should get Fighter 5/6/8 is generally the default choice, with the fighting style, surge, feat, and either BM maneuvers or Champ crit. Barbarians get the ability to just not go below 0hp and instead keep fighting as long as they can make a DC 10 con check +5 for every subsequent attack taken. Astarion (Striker) TL;DR: Ranger (Gloom Stalker) 5 / Rogue (Thief) 4 / Fighter (Battle Master) 3 This build leans even further into dual hand crossbows than the single-class version to squeeze the most sustained DPR we can get out of it. Please take some time to read the rules then settle in and enjoy yourself, darling. You can always do only 2 fighter to get the action surge. I agree with Rogue as a top tier early game build. You can power your smites with 10 bard levels of spell slots (or use them for spells as needed). The Fighter class is the most extraordinary melee class for making the best This would let you make 4 attacks per turn at level 8 between action and bonus action. Reply reply. I'm liking this build for Astarion so much in my livestream campaign that I'm basically playing this exact build in one of my multiplayer groups. Starting as a Rogue most importantly will give you proficiency in hand crossbows. Constitution - 14. The rest of your levels will be in Ranger, subclass Oct 28, 2023 · Astarion is one of the first couple of potential companions in Baldur’s Gate 3 that players get the chance to add to their party. First three levels will be Rogue, subclass Thief - gives two bonus actions instead of just one. A good combo is 5 ranger (or fighter) + 3 Thief (or 5 ranger, 3 thief, 4 warrior) Main Skills: Athletic, Acrobatics, Sleight of Hand, Stealth, Perception and whatever else of the remaining. Good spells to take include Hunter's Mark, Hail of Thorns, and Fog Cloud for combat; or Longstrider and Speak with Depends how far you are in the game, there is a certain ring that gives +2 Stealth, +2 Sleight of Hand and -1 Charisma. Level 3: Rogue and Choose Thief Subclass. Astarion Thief Dual-Wield 2x Rapier +1 (he has specialization with them) with the Misty Step necklace. Dual 1h crossbows. Character Build. You can do 9 Monk/rogue thief 3 (for the bonus action) and supplement the feat you sacrifice with the elegant robe that gives you +2 on dex and you can but It on the Path to the Githyanki creche. 6. Gather your party and venture forth! Great first-round burst damage, but just generally quite good with the ability to re-hide with consistency. My other favorite Astarion build is 5 gloom stalker, 5 assassin and 2 fighter. The crit fishing build doubles the dice of Ascended Astarion's Necrotic rider too. Since Tav is handing crowd control and support, there are three more roles our companions need to fill in combat: Frontliner: Tanks enemies and tries to prevent them from reaching the rest of the party. I think dual wielding daggers is so I would build him as an Assasin 4 / Gloomstalker 5/ fighter 3. Lore might even be a better fit here and you can pick up spiritual guardians at level 6. On your Fighters, go 2h Sword, Battle Master, Heavy Weapons and you can smash nearly just as hard. Similarly, ranger 5 (gloom or hunter). It grants Astarion another action on a kill, and no matter the build, Astarion should be a murder machine. Hunter is simple and effective, gloomstalker is the king of sneaking builds and goes great with rogue. With Thief as your Rogue class, either way, you'll have up to four attacks in a turn. Sharpshooter is probably the best Feat to pick at 4th level. You get 1 ki every level, having 1/2 your ki, not sure what your trying to get out of the rogue dip. He’ll out damage everyone with 1d12 necro damage and 2x str mod added to double furry of blows strike. Not far from the area there is also a quest that revolves around returning a certain package to a specific faction. After you earn that faction's favor you can buy a set of gloves that gives advantage on Sleight of Hand rolls. if you are using it on this character, start with 17 DEX. •. oi zm np rt dl ee db ob ja sq
